Why PASS was created
PASS (Proven Auditable Safe Supported) was created to increase transparency, build confidence and provide objective evidence behind every important aspect of a pilot ladder.
The idea originated during discussions with our Australian partner, Bay Providors. They explained that introducing a new manufacturer to the market would naturally generate questions from ship chandlers, ship owners, inspectors and other stakeholders who may not yet know Drewil Entership or our products.
The question was simple:
“How can we prove that Drewil delivers exactly what it claims?”
Our answer was PASS.
PASS is an evidence platform designed to demonstrate, rather than simply declare, how our products are designed, manufactured, tested, inspected and continuously improved.
Instead of asking customers to trust our words, we invite them to review the evidence.
Our philosophy
We believe that trust should be built on facts.
Every PASS module explains one important aspect of safety, quality or compliance and, whenever possible, is supported by objective evidence.
Depending on the type of information, evidence is made available through different access levels, ranging from publicly available information to controlled documentation shared only with verified partners or certification bodies.
Our objective is simple:

Looking beyond Drewil Entership
PASS is not intended to be only a company presentation.
It is a long-term initiative aimed at improving transparency within the pilot ladder industry.
After many years of cooperation with customers, pilots, notified bodies, classification societies and industry experts, we have observed that regulations are sometimes interpreted differently, documentation varies significantly between manufacturers and many important aspects remain difficult to verify.
We believe that greater transparency benefits everyone.
It improves confidence, simplifies verification and ultimately contributes to safer pilot transfers.
For this reason PASS is continuously evolving.
Our long-term ambition is to develop PASS into a recognised industry good practice and, where appropriate, inspire future industry standards.
If better evidence can help make pilot transfers safer, we believe it should become available to everyone.
HOW PASS WORKS
What you see at each level
PASS opens in steps, and each level is named after what you have signed. What changes is not only how much you see — it is the kind of evidence: photographs, then footage, then documents, then the full dossier.
Open
Rope · 4 photographs
Manila and synthetic rope arrives in bales marked with diameter and length. We cut it, splice it and seize it by hand — the same way, by the same team, year after year.
Wood · 5 photographs
Hardwood arrives sawn. Steps are cut to length, drilled, grooved for grip and treated here — which is why we can name the species, the grade and the moisture content.
Aluminium · 2 photographs
Profile and sheet come in against a mill certificate that names the heat they were rolled from. Spreaders and fittings are cut and formed here, to our own drawings.
Chocks · 4 photographs
The spreader chocks are not bought as parts. HDPE granulate arrives against an inspection certificate and the chocks are moulded on site — in our colours, to our dimensions.

Every operation between raw material and finished ladder happens in one workshop in Pomieczyno. No second site, no subcontracted assembly, no white label behind us.

Knowing our materials is one thing. Naming the exact batch that went into one numbered ladder is another — and it is the link we are closing now. From 12 August 2026 every delivery is given an internal batch number on arrival, and every work order records the batches it used.
